- Packing
List:
1. Bedding (sheets, blankets, sleeping bags,
etc.)
2. Pillow
3. Towel(s) (for the lake and the shower)
4. Swimsuit NOTE: ANY GIRL WEARING A
TWO-PIECE BATHING SUIT MUST HAVE A SHIRT ON OVER
IT! Of course, a safer option is to just wear a
one-piece suit, but if that's not available, then
plan on wearing a shirt when you swim. This is a
rule of the campground, and we must abide by it
if we would like to use their waterfront.
5. 1-2 sets of casual clothes
(shorts, shirts, sandals, etc.)
6. 2-3 sets of exercise clothes (shorts,
t-shirts, gym shoes, etc.)
7. Warm clothing for cool evenings (jacket,
sweatshirt, jeans, etc.)
8. Pajamas
9. Sunscreen/Bug Spray
10. Snacks (as desired)
11. Personal Toiletries
12. Alarm clock
13. Watch
- 14.
Personal Electronics As Desired (iPod, cell
phone, camera, etc.)
15. Money not necessary, but recommended
if you wish to purchase concessions. Individual
food items range from about $.50 $2.00.
(See a note about dining below.)
In addition to the above items,
each student needs to bring with them a personal
item of paramount importance (i.e. prized
possession) packaged in a plain brown box or
wrapped in plain brown wrapping paper (an
inside-out grocery bag will work for wrapping if
other brown wrapping paper is not available).
This item should be something that you treasure,
and it will not be available to you until nearly
the end of the retreat (so plan accordingly!).
When packaging your item, think along the lines
of something that you might receive or ship via
UPS
-
- A note
about dining at camp:
In the past, students have
requested that food be available to them outside
of the camps dining times. Students may opt
to bring snacks/drinks with them from home, but
this will not be allowed into the dining room.
Outside food will need to be kept in cabins, and
there is not refrigeration available.
Additionally, the camp will open its snack shop
during all breaks. The snack shop serves items
hamburgers, hot dogs, corn dogs, nachos,
pretzels, ice cream, and beverages with costs
that range from about .50-$2.00 per item.
