In Memoriam

Harold Adams, choir director and pianist at Sun Ray Church for many years, went to be with the Lord on March 4, 2008. Even in ill health, he had continued to prepare the choir for the Christmas Cantata but then no longer had the energy to continue after that Christmas Eve concert. He loved to share his gift at the piano, lifting spirits every Sunday with musical prayers of both contemplation and celebration. He will be missed dearly by his friends and family and, most of all, by the choir. Farewell, dear friend.

Honoring
Harold Adams
On Sunday, March 9, 2008

(As presented by Fred Moore with puppets Caleb and Delia.)

Fred Today is a sad day, isn’t it?

Caleb Yes, it is.

Delia Indeed.

Fred Harold is not at the piano this morning.

Caleb It’s like there is someone missing in action over there.

Delia I loved the spirit of his music.

Caleb I like the way he played that piano.

Fred And he could play just about any kind of music, couldn’t he?

Caleb Yes he could…from Mozart to Mansion on the Hilltop

Delia …from Schubert to Show tunes…

Fred …from Handel to Hoagie Carmichael…

Caleb …from Hymns to honky tonk…

Fred Oh, I don’t think he played honky tonk.

Delia Well, if he didn’t, he COULD have! Just put a sheet of music in front of him and he could play it!

Fred Yes, he could.

Caleb …from Gaither to God be with you…

Delia …from Bach to Bacharach…

Caleb …from Beethoven to boogie woogie…

Fred …from In the Garden to Go Down Moses.

Caleb A man with a mission!

Delia to share his gift and to lift our spirits!

(Both sing)

Jesus, Jesus, Jesus, sweetest name I know.
Fills my every longing, keeps me singing as I go.

Caleb So long, Harold…It’s been good to know you.

Fred See you later, old friend!

Delia Amen.
